We've got a lot of "Post an image" type contests, plus our players eagerly share screenshots of their accomplishments from within the game. We've been able to make posting images a bit easier, but there's still some nuances in play for getting it to post at just the right size for viewing. There's a few methods that can be used to post images, so here's a rough sketch of how to add images to your posts.
Caveats: Images must be no larger than 1MB in size, and must be .jpg, .gif, or .png
1. Direct Upload
The easiest method is quite possibly Direct Upload. To use Direct Upload, first, open the Advanced Editor (1), and then click on the Image (2) button:
Next, click on the Upload (3) tab, then click "Choose File" (4). This will open a window allowing you to browse to the file location. Select the image you want and click Open, and then click on "Send it to the Server" (5):
Click on OK, and your image will be inserted directly into your post. These two images were uploaded using this method.
2. Remote URL Reference
Similar to Direct Upload, you can reference an image remotely. Start off by opening the Advanced Editor and clicking the Image Button. Stay on the "Image Info" tab, and enter the URL for the image you wish to reference. For example, the following image is located at https://i.imgur.com/x1CaQWf.jpg. Entering this in the URL field and clicking OK will insert the image into your post:

This can alternatively be achieved by adding IMG tags around the URL, as in [ IMG ] https://i.imgur.com/x1CaQWf.jpg[ /IMG ], but without the spaces. The interface here just does this for you.
3. Upload as Attachment
Uploading the image file as an attachment has similar caveats as the Direct Upload, but is a little more volatile in how the Forums actually process the image. Generally this will result in the image being attached to the post, but not actually displayed within the text of the post itself. Viewers will be able to click on the image to view the full size file.
First, click on "Attachments" (1), and then click either "Upload Attachments" or "Upload from URL". "Upload Attachments" will open a window allowing you to navigate to a file to upload, while "Upload from URL" allows you to enter the URL where the image is located. In either case, it retrieves the file and then adds it as an attachment to your post without including it in the post text.
Please feel free to use this thread to test out posting any images, but be aware that contest entries posted here will never be counted. Keep your images PG-13 as well.
