I would as well! This coming from a guy that has spent thousands! At the same time I don’t want to swing pendulum too far the other way where you have to spend fortune to maintain dominance.Rrmember old days when packs were expensive and new toons every week? That was bit much!!

I agree, if the game become so expensive again, I guess lots of players could quit.

It's a very delicate balance. Probably the hardest part of game design for a freemium game is figuring out the balance between f2p/p2p and the benefits to paid players without being a burden of expense, and then continuing to monitor and potentially have to shift that balance as the game evolves.

the advantage of p2p players is that they can get teams more easily, release unique teams that are not elsewhere in a special package with 50 gems and see how they buy

also in the majority of games they add things that do not affect the game but they give a better appearance just look at clash royale I add new emoticons that do not give an advantage they look good

Like they could add alternative costumes of unique heroes or specials in most games they do and people buy them so why not do it in hoda?

I started playing recently, will definitely buy that cheap pack that guarantees a legendary large creature. To be honest, i see why some people here may believe is not that worth paying, i already have more legendaries than i thought i would ever have. I'm thinking in temporary exclusive heroes. New heroes (and perhaps equipment) could be only obtainable by spending real money (not diamonds for the reasons others have said) during a couple of months or whatever time you deem best. Other options is skins for heroes or particle effects, people certainly love things that make their favorite characters look nice, and there are a lot of those in DA. Perhaps cool name-plates too?

Anyways, those are just *my* (not really mine, just general things) silly ideas, but i've seen that kind of things work in other games so i thought that perhaps they are worth considering. ^_^

The game is more than four and a half years old now; as mobile games go, that’s pretty much “honored elder” status. I wouldn’t worry, this one has some excellent staying power

i once mentioned "Xenon's Emporium" as a store where specific gear or heroes can be purchased with gold or gems, but what if it was fully, or at least mainly $$$ driven?

Some items/ heroes could be pricey, but some stuff could be a less is more kind of deal. What items would people pay an actual $1 or 5 for rather than grinding and hoping for an RNG drop? What heroes? Whar gear? $5-8 for a mythic gear of choice?

The main target here would be people looking to close out the catalog, or get specific dupes, or gear. Also, a new player with big $$$ up front could quickly purchase and fortify multiple competitive squads.

SSM at $50 each? THO for $45 ?

New Meta exclusive gear/ heroes would be a good selling point, among other things.

I used to spend, now it's been 6 months without spending (It was getting too addicting for my wallet, as I am a university student). The only thing that would make me spend would be a 3 gems per refill cost (like during last Christmas), to buy all 3 vaults. This depends obviously on my personal goal on Hoda, that would look unnecessary on another person goal probably. Cause 6am for PG is too late for me and i slowly abandoned it, both th gems and the exp provided would be of great help.

Unfortunately no. Keep in mind most games are not based on someone else's IP. We don't own the rights to these characters - BioWare does. Which means absolutely everything visual that goes into the game goes through BioWare approval first. In order for us to release things like alternative costumes, we'd have to go through that same approval for every hero, not to mention the amount of time it would take to make that artwork for every hero. This is 5+ years of hero creation involved here Something like being able to apply shaders to change heroes is the kind of thing that would have needed to be around very early on in the game in order to be even remotely feasible.

We started the trend of the exclusive releases with SSM - expect to see some more like this in the coming weeks/months.

The 90/10 or the 80/20 rules could apply here, like 80-90% of things should be acquirable for f2p, and thus new players can grow fast and get pretty strong toons and continue growing and player retention is not affected , but a 10-20% should be acquirable by spending, and i dont mean gems exactly ( they are also devalued), as you can grab 1200+ a month if you are an experienced player with a complete catalogue, but $$ or extreme luck, there are some things in this life designed to be exclusive, that exclusiveness gives value, and value gets $$ (extreme luck works well with f2p)

I can get greens as i got epics in the past, i consume legendaries, specially those abundant in nexus, So legendaries are now abundant as sand on the beach and thus devalued. (There are ways to change this below)

I will pay for good revamps, if theres a way to unlock them or via some type of gear, revamps deserve it as they must pass QA etc a good amount of work, i think people just take revamps for granted.

I will pay for something that i will acquire first than others, access to special PVE that drops the last ultrare toon, and that costs $ The toon has just a tad, a very little power creep to be desirable it doesnt need to be too much, or the uniqueness of sporting a new mechanic, Wryme (as an example) would have been perfect to drop as an ultra rare drop on a special nexus, and have sandal as less powerful sample of the mechanic.

All in all i think the game must restore the sense of achievement after acquiring a toon, as legs are devaluated, instant myth 3* toons could be a new rarity without adding a new rarity and put them just a tad power creep( a minimal one but enticing enough to make them worth pursuing) or just legs that are hard to acquire SSM was a great start. Something like collector edition toons that were main characters in the game and other nice ones that havent seen the light of the day, that will certainly restore the economic balance. Special versions of Aveline, Fenris, Oghren, etc and other not in the game like Warden Kristoff, Golem of Amgarrak, Bard Leliana (lelianas song version)

This require less resources as main models have already been made. Power is more important for us (for most anyway) than a lot of $$ spent on 3d modeling, that can we have when the game recovers economically.

Oh and gear, it has not been much devalued as toons, as there is still a lot of gear from the main games, powerful and hard to acquire gear will give the game $$ and fast.

Thats my 2 cents, just throwing ideas to the air, (and ofc with high respect for the team) for the good of the game as a dedicated player, any of you would buy this above? i would
Lots of great ideas in this post.

I would spend money in a gear store. I need RL Idols (like many of us do I am sure), but I don't have the gear space (or the time needed to keep selling gears to make more room), so I would love to see a store with a bunch of different gears available for purchase.

I understand what you want to say about the rights of the characters but it is not necessary to create alternative costumes for all the heroes at once, I will try to explain it

let's take a random hero as dorian this hero has versions 1, 2 and 3 of fortification each version is distinguished to some extent so if I would remove each suit I would not need to create them because they are already done and people who would not have problems in paying if the hero is seen as a minor fortification since many of the old fortifications look better than those of the 4

this would be to start the first year could take all the heroes the 3 versions and those who want to pay q q heroes are seen so buy them in addition to q will give more use to the display of heroes and q can not be guided by how it looks like it could be another level of fortification

between months I could get 1 special suit either from a canon or alternative game if I would have a bit of effort since I would have to create it from 0 but nothing compared to creating several for each character as I was thinking at the beginning of my idea

in this they would not have to create a new hero, they would not have to think about new mechanics, they would not have to think about the balance of the game, what if it would take effort is to implement this way of changing suits to the heroes, I do not deny it but nothing you can not do, but otherwise you would not have to be complicated

well that's the idea that I mean what would bring the players spend on those suits including me

It's not a thing that's going to happen, I'm sorry. It's not up for discussion or debate or trying to convince us. It's simply not going to happen.

The possibility to select a tier as your view, perhaps. But alternate, new designs, is not on the table.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                                Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                                1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                                2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                                3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                                4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                                5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                                6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                                7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.
