I put out a squad of non attackers for this event because of the shear number of meta squads out there. That does seem to happen when the bonus is not for a specific group or faction. People who like to put out their best event boosted team in the D slot will put out their best meta teams when the event boosts all units (or in battle royales).

Just wanted to bump this thread as I feel nugging is important to the future of our beloved game.Just started f2p alt and last pvp top prize was crappy gear and I can't believe all the players that had top boosted ssquads out.It was very difficult to get banners and had to Next a million times. To me it's not a big deal but to a new player starting out I could see how it could be frustrating and have them give up.Im not suggesting give away the game but if it's uninteresting event players could make it a little more enjoyable for new players. After all without new players the game will die.Just my 2 cents!
Shoutout to Dumat and I luvanessa I seen ur nugs out there.I will put mine back out!

The excuse of PG is not valid now that there are different defense slots. So I still believe in my old theory: the sense of community died when GW's became important. People don't want to help each other anymore, now only the guild matters. It's sad because if you nug when you are not after a top position, you don't lose anything, and if you don't nug you don't win anything either. So let's face it, people don't want to help anymore. The old times when people shared squads, counter squads and tips, and nugged for each other, are gone.
I'll keep nugging 24/7, though (except on GW, of course).

They will care if the game goes away because of lack of new blood. Its fine if you don't want to nug but I don't get loading up with best squad as possible in dslot if you don't need the prize.I remember last year when DM was in pvp top 50 and people were chasing her with DM in their squad. To those type of players may all of your best toons get nerfed, lol!(just kidding)
I put my fighting team in slot 3 and low level legs(untiered or unforted)or wisps in dslot.Whatever though, play how you want I just don't get it!

To be honest, I think I saw more nugging again recently, so maybe some people saw this thread and changed their mind))
I definitely did. For a while I wasn't sure that it was even a thing - I saw some weird teams like all nugs, or some epics, or a single leg hero or even wisps, but I never figured out why people did it. After a while I figured out that maybe they either wanted to obscure their teams and tactics, or there was some other reason... but I was happy about my pretty, hard-earned team and wanted to show everybody. Not because I love to brag so much, but rather because I also love to see other people's builds and I'm always curious about them.
But I got back to nugging, it's way better to help people out this way. And if it wasn't for nugging squads, it would take me ages to earn anything in events few months ago, when I joined the game. There's nothing worse than being a lost newbie and not being able to participate in anything, because you get rekt by people far above your level all the time. I remember, when in PvP I had to tap "next" for at least 10-20 times in a row to find anybody who I MAYBE could fight with. I had a lot of time and patience, but for a lot of people that's more than enough to abbandon the game.
              So, nugging for life <3

This thread has brought me into nugging too :-)

I didn't nug early on cause it was so prevalent and later due to PG, and then I just didn't really bother to notice what I had in my def team.

Now I have a team of support toons and a giant myth wisp there for good (or untill I fort that wisp...)

BTW, what I don't get is why a lot of people do "partial nugging" i.e. using leveling buffed toons or powerful non-buffed toons etc. These practices help advanced players that can use their leveling toons instead of their top notch teams, but do little for new players that can't compete even with that. I think anyone choosing to nug should use a team defeatable by anyone.

CasualPlayer even non-attackers in D slot can win against weak teams if e.g. Dowager suddenly assassinates so the only team that can be defeated by everyone is a team of rare nugs or wisps, etc.
However I prefer beefy defenders, cause they look funny for me and bring more XP and gold to the opponents. Also I think that if opponents attack a nuging team they can wait for a few rounds: since they use my team to go up it's a fair price.

However sometimes I put in my D slot thematic squads devoted to different Dragon Age games and books. E.g., I had Aveline and her husbands squads (to be honest, copied it from another player), Alistair and his parents, my DA:2 squad with Sab Marian (1 level) and companions (some of them were T3 but not forted and low level). Nugging should be fun, at least in my opinion.

I don't know why players use other types of "partial nugging". Probably they have all other slots loaded with useful squads so they put leveling toons there. I myself need more slots too. I still need to earn that last 8th slot but I don't think that 8 will be enough for me %)

Also even middle-leveled players can benefit from nugging a lot - to level their own teams, or if they have no decent teams for the current PVPs. E.g. one can have a cool mage team but no templars squads, and they will quite enjoy meeting a partially nugging opponent (just my thoughts).

I am totally agree with your comment Morforwyn, if some players would not have helped me when I started playing I would not have been able to continue in the game and get new toons and prizes to have a good team now.
Thanks for all the "nuggers" who helped me

Yeah. I think with lots of games having a handholding tutorial that explains most of the basics(have a look at torchlight mobile for example), hoda is lacking a little in that dept.
Not everyone visits the forums, so for some form of retention, things like that handholding helps
Other things like, create an account and post in forums for a small amount of gems might help direct them to forums.

I actually think so too as I have seen an uptick of nugging as well lately. Great to see! This may come as a surprise, but it was actually Lyeshal who asked the question that got me to start this thread, so credit her way as well

Thanks to help from nuggers, and constant refills from leveling up, this helped to make up for my first legendary pull. Mother Giselle.

                                2* ? Does not attack. ? Does NOT attack? ? NOT?! ?

Horrible pull for a beginner whose entire squad got wiped out by a powered up Red Nugly.

                                First ever PVP event though...

                                UPDATE: Maintenance Issues

                                UPDATE:

We are VERY CLOSE to being complete. We are doing some final checks on the accounts that have been recovered through our automated identification for the accounts that could not log in (Queue #1), but believe that at this point, if you are able to log in and access your account, you are free and clear and safe to play again.

Compensation to these accounts will be distributed tomorrow, and any tickets related to this that are still outstanding will be resolved at that time.

After this point, our team requires rest. If you have any remaining issue on your account after the recovery process is complete, we do apologize but our staff will not be available to address this until Tuesday.

If you wish to express dissatisfaction or gratitude regarding this issue, we ask that instead of replying to this email, please wait until the ticket system sends you the automated Customer Satisfaction survey after the request is closed. You may provide your feedback through this survey. This feedback will still get to the team, but it won't go back into the queue as being a reopened ticket, which will greatly assist us in being able to restore normal service operations for new requests. We hope you enjoy the extended release of the Western Approach quest event, now available through October 26 2pm PDT, along with reduced Energy and Stamina refill costs and increased Proving Grounds trophies available through October 23 2pm PDT. It is our hope that this special event will allow you to catch up on some of the time that was lost due to this issue.

Topics/posts containing such will be deleted on sight. Forum poster will be permanently banned from the forums.

                                Warez
Providing or asking for information regarding the illegal downloading of "warez", "gamez" or any other software protected by copyright.

                                Future Events/Promotions
Any posts or threads revealing future events or promotions that were not disclosed by the Capital Games team will be deleted.

                                Cross-posting
Posting the same question in more than one forum is not allowed. Should this occur, then only the thread in the most relevant forum will be left open; all others will be locked/closed and subsequently deleted.

                                Cheating
The use of any exploits or known bugs or editing of files in order to gain an unfair advantage while playing, will result in a permanent game and forum ban.

Accusing another player of cheating will result in your post/thread being deleted and a message sent to you, stating to refrain from further accusations. If continued accusations occur, a forum ban will result. If you believe a player to be cheating, send a PM to the Community Manager with as much detail as possible.

Please privately contact the Community Manager in order to submit an inquiry regarding this behavior.

                                Off-Topic Posting
Taking over a thread by posting excessively off-topic is not allowed. Off-Topic posts and any responses will be moved to their own, new thread if possible, or else deleted.

                                Political Posting
Because political beliefs, like religion, are a personal and sensitive topic, avoid posting about politics on the forums.

                                Customer Support Inquiries
All inquiries regarding Customer Support should be routed through the online web portal for support. The Community Manager and Moderators are unable to assist with inquiries regarding support tickets. Posting your ticket number and requesting assistance on the forums will result in the post being deleted. Sending a Private Message to the Community Manager or Moderators about CSR Inquiries is not to be tolerated, and will be ignored.

Additionally, all interactions with Customer Support are considered confidential, and all issues are handled on a case-by-case basis. As such, posts containing transcripts or results of your interactions with Customer Support will be edited or deleted.

Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games and a report to Facebook.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                                Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                                1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                                2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                                3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                                4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                                5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                                6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                                7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.
