  • We need more things to buy!!

Today I looked at my 7000gems accumulated in my pool l and I just have an existential crisis lol. As a super regular ptp in the first half of last year, i have moved on to mostly ftp in the second half of last year and probably will stay that way this year and I'm still no where near using up my gems (Which I bought more than half a year ago) and I do refill on nexus, pvp, play high ranking in guildwar regularly. There are no points in buy flashpack or old heroes pack cause ptp have full heroes/ full mythfort already. I understand that Hoda is a free to play game but us pay to play players really need something to spend on. As how the game is now, I see no incentive to buy any gems. Unlike any other games on fb, hoda basically give ptp no advantage at all and I know that is good for some of us but to me that is also a little unfair. There are a lot of little advantage that CG can implement for ptp that wont break the game (xp bonus in vault is a step in the right direction imo). Something like spending gems to buy inventory space or spending gems on a toon to unlock a 5th gear slot would be great. I've talk to alot of ptp players in my guild and most of us feel like the game is getting boring because we dont have anything to buy/ build. (The new toon every 2 week schedule also contribute to this boring feeling for ptp). I'm scare that the way Hoda doing things is pushing ptp away and that is not good for the health of the game long term (Not saying I know anything about CG methods or data but just what I feel from the info I gathered). Hope CG can look into this.

You can buy me gems if you feel the need to p2p 😂

On a serious note what if instead of things to buy to increase p2p strength etc there was cosmetics? Different skins etc for your favourite toons. E.g. Neon RLB 😁
    Panda style storvacker
    Solid gold TEO

I agree maybe increased slots/storage space could be fair but think equipment slots would be unfair as the balance of HoDa lies in the fact that f2p/p2p can build to the same strengths.

      Stop it, please!

P.S But I agree, it is a very interesting idea. I think, we should have a choice in order to create our own, exclusive heroe

I agree, cosmetic would be something really fun to have. As for the 5th gear slot, it will just give more things to spend on which is good for the health of the game. Dont forget ftp earn a lot of gems through pvp and pg/ daily reward too so they can spend gems to unlock the 5th gear slots if they prefer. Not necessary exclusive for ptp butt ftp may need more careful planning on how to spend their gems. Which is the same as every other game on fb. I know ftp players who accumulated thousands of gems through careful planning on how to use their gems. They need more stuff to spend gems on too

I kinda like the idea of skins for heroes as well if that were possible (plaidweave Hivernal FTW!). Seems reasonable to me to have this available for gems.

To ease the work for CG graphic designer, I guess we should be fine with skin for T4 only haha

Agree I'm closing to 7,6k or 7,7k gems and getting bored, because I have nothing to build. If we could get more specific gear packs and tomes packs will be great

If I were a guessing man I'd say the slowdown of new toon releases has more to do with the inventory cap than anything - in which case I'd be quite surprised to see any new capability to allow purchase of inventory space. We were told here (http://forums.capitalgames.com/forum...y-space-please) that the inventory cap would eventually hit its' ceiling of performance impact and likely not be increased again beyond that point. We were advised to adjust our playing styles to accommodate the inventory cap - it is after all a common thing among games. There are now some formal whispers of DA4 coming from BioWare - so it may be that soon enough we will need to determine which legendaries we are willing to sacrifice (maybe a roadmap of future revamps would help this decision as many times older toons that would never make the cut have been turned into solid gold).

We can each decide for ourselves whether or not this is a good thing; but the game has definitely evened the playing field between F2P and P2P (unless you're signed up for the tournament and want to pay for a rune disadvantage - you like the extra challenge perhaps ? ...). I'm no game company, so I don't know how a game survives without incentive to purchase - but I'm sure a way to achieve this has been figured out by minds much wiser than mine. I personally still purchase (although I'm not honestly sure for how long) - but I am an avid collector and am slowly inching my way towards a completely built codex (and one of my adversaries then, obviously, is my entire previous paragraph).

I can say without any doubt that the moment I am expected to begin sacrificing old legendaries for new ones is the moment I retire, and no amount of pay-to-unlock gear slots; or fancy optional toon skins, is going to change that. I had commented way back, in the thread I linked above, that a hard inventory cap was possibly the most critical issue this ecosystem faces. My opinion is clearly driven by my own playing style; but nothing has changed for me.

So for me personally: until, or unless, the inventory cap is addressed - no amount of shiny, low-impact features are going to put a fire under my wallet to continue feeding the ecosystem my hard earned cash. New, frequent releases are the core of what is paid for. It's what drives power creep, and what keeps a collectible game alive. Without that, everything else is just window dressing; and I'm not a big fan of paying for window dressing. Window dressing is supposed to be the free junk you get thrown in with your actual purchase(s).

I agree with nog.If I’m gonna spend Its for functionality and collectible not to Pretty my toons up!

There is less incentive for p2p as my f2p account just started in July has every toon released since then till now and it has 270 gems sitting there. If my f2p can do that well why would I buy?

It's possible that the recent shift in philosophy from stars being an indicator of rarity to higher stars meaning higher power is opening the door to using more 1*s as consume/fort food. Just like epics were once considered top heroes and are now expendable, 1* legs may soon be obsolete aside from a few outliers.

I used to be p2p, buying gems once a month. I became f2p last june (or maybe july, I don't remember well). I have continued buying every new toon that has appeared. I now have close to 3400 gems, and full codex except for Shaper Valta (even with so many gems, I refuse to pay for an old and bad toon that should be added to BP). I agree there's no incentive to buy gems, and I wonder how long the game can survive like this. Cosmetic changes are not the solution. I can't really think of a good solution, because releasing tons of new toons with a permanent roster limitation will eventually force collectors to get rid of part of their collection. But it's a good thing that this topic was raised, because in my opinion it's a real problem.

Getting to 30% crit is still my thing to do personally, when the game connects with the next release of DA4 we will see more releases, i believe cap space is related to maintain a reasonable disk space on mobile devices, but not completely sure of it.

The skins and everything cosmetic is not a bad thing IMHO, but nothing that will change the games flow as it is, however i thing toon revamps are being taken for granted, maybe adding a gear, avaliable on pvps and or nexus to bring something to grind for, any revamp goes to QA and has a lot of work to make it happen, Just throwing an idea.

Totally agree, I like the idea of cosmetic but it's not a long term solution to our problem. We need some serious inventory overhaul and we might need it sooner than we think. Hopefully CG come up with some solution to this. IMO I think this is even more pressing of a matter than rune revamp or heroes revamp if we look at the health of the game. Slow releasing rate for new toon might leads to many problems such as:
-Make the game boring/ slow pace
-Unable to change the meta due to lack of new toon/ mechanic-Arent we all tired of seeing kitties and bart everywhere? This is the longest meta I have ever witnessed and I've been with the game from the start
-No inventory for mythic wisp packs hence why I cant buy many of them
-No new things means older/ more ptp players starting to leave the game out of boredom

I like how CG let us reach 30% now and fully support it. I think I actually was the one who brought up the idea with Lyeshal in Palringo chat haha. I'm a little confused when you say revamps are being taken for granted though. Can you elaborate on that? DUMAT Also, revamp are nice and all, but it's not something to spend gems on which is the main theme I'm worrying about

I agree, if CG releases more heroes you have the problem that you haven't enough space for them, I think more new heroes would be a mistake.
I love collecting heroes and I had to get rid of my epics and some legs, it is difficult to play in that way, it is a collection game and it is hard to decide which heroes you keep and which not.
But other content for P2P is a good idea.

                              Customer Support Inquiries
All inquiries regarding Customer Support should be routed through the online web portal for support. The Community Manager and Moderators are unable to assist with inquiries regarding support tickets. Posting your ticket number and requesting assistance on the forums will result in the post being deleted. Sending a Private Message to the Community Manager or Moderators about CSR Inquiries is not to be tolerated, and will be ignored.

Additionally, all interactions with Customer Support are considered confidential, and all issues are handled on a case-by-case basis. As such, posts containing transcripts or results of your interactions with Customer Support will be edited or deleted.

Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games and a report to Facebook.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                              Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                              1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                              2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                              3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                              4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                              5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                              6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                              7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.

In addition to the Forum Rules, you are bound to the general EA Terms of Service both on these forums and in the game. Links to the TOS are as follows:
