  • Consume similar, Unfortify price equal to wisps in the shop

I want to apologize in advance if these topics have already been risen. I looked through the latest threads in the feedback section and haven't found any, however I haven't been on forum for a while and could overlook that big fat elephant in the room.

    1. I'd like to speak of the price of unforting. Currently it's cheaper to go to the shop and BUY wisps instead of unforting old heroes since the price is the same, but shop gives you additional gear and gems. When unfortify was introduced many were afraid that people will transfer forts between heroes before each PVP, and other things like this. Now the game economy has changed, forts are widely available. So why not to decrease the unfortify price?
Another way CG can help players find use of those stucked wisps is to provide low-price unfortify days as they already do with Refills and Consume. I know it was offered earlier but now situation has changed and probably the team will agree to look into it again.

    2. Another thing that drives me crazy is heroes sorting in consume similar. I'd prefer them to be sorted dupe near dupe no matter the tier. E.g., Briala tier 4 next to Briala tier 1. Now I have to remember which heroes I keep in tier 3, go down and check if there are any dupes of tier 1. I heard earlier it was sorted this way. Is there any reason to keep current system? What do other players prefer?

Agreed. Since coming back to the game, I have spent all my gems on just unforting old (and nowadays mostly obsolete) heroes and forting revamped ones. While I was certainly glad to have the option, the price feels a little steep. Especially paying gems to unfort rares and lower. That's just gauging players. If not lowering the price, at least make rares and lower free!!!

I agree. On the last weekend I spend between 200 to 300 gems just for unforting T1 mythic wisps. I had to do so because I did not know that when you have T3 Legendary toon end forting on them T1 Mythic toon you get T4 Mythic toon. So I have more then few of them to unfort. It made me question as well, if I should buy wisps backs instead.

The primary goal behind allowing unfortification is to recover heroes that you have previously used to fortify. The cost of the wisp packs has nothing to do in relation to fortification, as the removal is not intended for removing your wisps. If you're looking to reclaim wisps, go buy the Hero Booster packs.

The cost for unfortify should rather be compared to the time, effort, and cost of otherwise recovering a specific hero. For example, if you have a King Alistair used as fortification and you want to recover it, what would the cost be to get a new copy of this hero? Considering he only drops in one quest event, you would have to wait for that event to come around again, grind that event, and then hope that he drops - and then you would still have to build him back up to Tier 4. This would cost considerably more than the 12 or 25 gems for Legendary or Mythic removal of the hero, which can then also be easily replaced with a single Hero Booster pack. So at most, you're looking at about 50 gems to recover and replace a Mythic fortification. That's a little less than the cost of 2 Champion Packs, with most heroes not even recoverable through that method, or reliably, even during a Group Feature week where that hero may be available.

So yes, it is cheaper to go to the shop and buy wisps. That's totally the intent.

We've also looked into doing reduced cost days for unfortify, and unfortunately the system does not currently support this in the same way as the refills and consume promos.

It used to be that way, and I'm not sure when or why it was changed. It's on our list of things to do, but is, as always, dependent on time, resources, and priorities.

If you have T1 Mythic Wisps in fortification, you can drop a T3 Legendary Wisp (same exact faction) on it to make it a T4 Mythic Wisp, within the fortification screen and without having to remove the fortification first. This is exactly the same behavior as putting the T1 Mythic Wisp on the consume pedestal and then putting 3x T1 or 1x T3 Legendary on the seed circles to be consumed, to make it a T4 Mythic Wisp.

The benefit in fortification is that it works the other way, too - if you have a T3 Legendary Wisp in fortification, you can place a T1 Mythic Wisp on top of it to make it a T4 Mythic, without having to remove the fortification first. However, you cannot put a T3 Legendary onto the consume pedestal and then consume a T1 Mythic into it to make it Mythic. Consume will only ever make the final result be the same rarity as the hero on the pedestal, while fortification will make the final result be the greater of the rarities.

Rares are easily reclaimable by buying recruit, soldier, and knight packs, and by running quest events. Because they're so easily obtainable with a small amount of effort, the price of 5 gems to instantly reclaim an epic or lower is more than fair. You can get 5 gems pretty easily through regular gameplay.

If I knew this before this last weekend I would have saved all those gems. I did not know how easy it is to create T4 mythic wisps.
              Thank you for the information.

Always worth trying Experiment with stuff in-game. Ask "what happens if i do this" and try it and see what happens. Best way to learn the limitations and capabilities of the game.

That is true, I do not know when it became easy to do so but, in the past there was no going back and when I did experiment I could not undo it. Yesterday I tried to do so and it was easy and fun.

I've been mulling this over since you replied, and I understand this now. I have been able to use this knowledge to save as many gems as possible while removing old fortifications. I am almost at a point where I can simply start buying the wisp packs rather (yeah my hero fortification was a mess). Still a little upset about the T4 rare wisps I had to pay to remove (in order to consume them), but I will write that off as paying for the convenience of not hunting them down again in the wisp nexus.

Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                    Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                    1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                    2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                    3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                    4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                    5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                    6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                    7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.
