  • Uploaded images get reduced to tiny size

When I upload an image it gets reduced to a size that you can‘t even see it is there in the post. It started out with a not that tiny size but still reduced so that you couldn‘t tell what‘s shown in the image.

I think it‘s a similar account-related issue like the one in the following post. I am able to post the same images over a different forum account.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.
This just started for me. I keep getting invalid format when trying to attach images to posts. I'm using the same method to screencapture and edit jpegs I have

This one, Upload from URL, shows the problem with my forum account once more. Image get reduced in size.

Plus, I do not like the idea of leaving unnecessary footprints anywhere in the web. We already got enough data junk in the world.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts, VK Admin.

Attached pix are small for everyone, use tinypic like most of the users here (As I said from my other account previously)

Thank you for your response, Heal and Harm. I still don‘t like the idea of using tinypic
Btw are not small for everyone as I understandt, images can be viewed in the full resolution as uploaded. You just need to click the image you see in the post, then a window appears which contains the image stretched to the borders of the page, if you click in that you even get the full resolution version of it.

Just see below & try for yourself. 2 Examples: one image I uploaded before it went broke - the dragonling - and the other uploaded when posting this - the Queen, well, you will hardly recognise here I guess.

Sorry if I seem to become annoying, not intended, would just like to have my forum account fixed. Any help regarding that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It's not anything about your account - there's nothing for me to fix. Seems it's something quirky with the forums, and I'm unsure if it's how you're uploading files or what.

If you're attempting to resize the image using the forum tools for it, that could be causing an issue. There's a guide to posting pictures... i believe in the Circle Tower section. Take a look at that and see if one of the other options for uploading images works for you. There's a couple of ways you can do it.

                  Thanks for your response, Lyeshal.
I am using no resizing (wouldn't know how), just a plain Direct Upload as described here: http://forums.capitalgames.com/forum...-on-the-forums

I think that the forum server is doing something with the file I select in the "Choose File" dialog. And only on this forum account. Why? Because I uploaded exactly the same image of the Queen (see above), using exactly the same procedure, here:
                  http://forums.capitalgames.com/forum...25#post2287125

So that is why I think it is related to the forum account, and it could be similar to the case I quoted in my original post here.

Is there a way to delete older uploads from my account? My account lists 80 posted images in the Media section. Could that be a source for the trouble with my forum account?

Just to be sure, now using the same procedure uploading as in post #7 above. Only difference is, I am using my temporary forum account that I recently created because the upload doesn't work anymore in my original account.

                    Can you see the difference?

Yeah I just looked at your account and I don't see anything set differently there from any other account.

80 images could maybe be running up against the general space constraints for posted images, which may be causing the forum to automatically resize some stuff during the upload process. I'll see if I can find a way to clear out older images - I don't see a method on the Media screen in profiles other than to painstakingly navigate to the posts for each image and delete the image from the post itself.

Ok, thanks for the hint how to delete images. I‘ll try that first and tell you if it solves my issue.

Ok, deleted a couple of my posts, down to 68 in total. Images disappeard from My Profile, though I saw some awkward things in the page-scaled view when clicking the images. Anyway will try uploading the example image of this thread once more... let's see.

[EDIT] ... oh, well. Too bad. Didn't work. Deleting posts said something about "Soft Delete... can be restored...". So I suspect the images are still there, somewhere deep within the forum, and somehow still connecting to my forum account.

Are you able to "hard delete" all of my accounts images older than 2 months, Lyeshal? It's not that urgent, you will probably quite busy until next month.
Until then I'll use my temporary account for posting images, if I may. Is that Ok?

I'll have to look into clearing your images in the new year. Got my hands full for the next few weeks. Feel free to use the other account for image posting

I started having the same issue as the OP earlier this week also.
Posting to the weekly T&G contest, no matter what size image you choose to upload, it shows up as tiny...
                              Something changed.

The Community Manager and Moderators are unable to assist with inquiries regarding support tickets. Posting your ticket number and requesting assistance on the forums will result in the post being deleted. Sending a Private Message to the Community Manager or Moderators about CSR Inquiries is not to be tolerated, and will be ignored.

Additionally, all interactions with Customer Support are considered confidential, and all issues are handled on a case-by-case basis. As such, posts containing transcripts or results of your interactions with Customer Support will be edited or deleted.

Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games and a report to Facebook.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                              Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                              1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                              2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                              3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                              4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                              5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                              6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                              7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.
