  • Queen hits the damage ceiling round 2 - heals the enemy

    I think power gains were corrected recently and there has been effort made to avoid hitting that damage ceiling, but Queenie here, possibly, breaks that barrier round 2. It's unfortunate being she is a great round 2 finisher.

    Fortunately, this is the only scenario where this has happened to me, but it happened 5-6 times and I just don't use that team on that node any more.

    Watch Queen #1 heal the enemy completely, and Queen #2 hit for nothing.

    I'm just speculating about the damage ceiling. Could be something else. Just a guess.

    Huh.

    I'll have to spend a little more time analyzing this to see what's going on - unfortunately with trying to prep for the holiday break, it's a wee bit hectic right now. Seems very edge-case and specific though, as you noted.

      just that is happening to me in the current event and I do not attack anymore I lost several times I am surprised that this happened in the previous event this did not happen

        I think, the value of damage dealt to each unit is more than 2'147'483'648, that's why they don't get it.
        Tips. After that value all damage has reversed ability. Its not a bug, but overvalued for the system.

          When your unit reaches 2'147'483'648 damage, next damage wouldn't be 2'147'483'649, but will be -1, -2, -3… and so on. It could not be fixed, because whole binar coding system need to be changed. Or maximum damage/power gaining caps could heal this problem, but few months ago we voted against it.

            I've had a couple of occasions where queenies nukes the opponents, but then abilities that return damage give me a nuke blow back, 10 digit damage each side. It counts as a defeat too

              I know how easy counter her. Absorption of damage (defender 100%). One of the absorber should have retaliation ability. Besides on-dealt healing ability doesn't help in this case. Even DM will get some retaliated damage.

                i figure it was the old, as I know it, Spirit of Faith bug, where she gets so powerful that her healing nukes allies. I've had it with Rev Gurd too where he is too powerful and his on hit healing kills him. Also had Brogan get so strong he reset to zero and gained power all over again. There is definitely a "wall" that can be hit. :-)

                I thought the way power gain works was adjusted recently, to only account for opponent remaining health plus a %, so I thought it was worth noting. I've still only noticed it in this situation, but I don't regularly play with that team.

                  Yeah, that change was made, which is why I'm so interested in why this is still a thing. We'll have to dig into that calculation and do some more checks on it to make sure nothing changed as part of other mechanics fixes, particularly how Retaliation/Explode are mingling with the damage calculation.

                    I had the same thing a few times - but not regularly enough to stop using the team that relies on Queenies nuke. Thinking about it, I think it's happened mostly when no-one has died in R1, so power gain hasn't gone mad for R2, meaning she gets another pop in R3.

                      So this looks like it's just a massive mingling of all of her abilities - bonus damage gain on top of mark, with levy added, against enemies who have had significant power gain. Having 2 or more Queens means there's the potential for 2 or more Marks to be applied, each adding 30% bonus damage.

                      She gets a maximum of 20% bonus damage (4 allies killed), plus 30% mark on one target (extra 30% bonus damage on that one, likely having 60% bonus damage in a 2-Queen scenario due to the Mark from the first forcing that same enemy to be targeted for Mark by the second), plus 20% Levy (as bonus damage). And all that on top of any power gains she may have had from allies.

                      Yeah, I can see how that could add up pretty fast to break things, but it is very specific scenarios. It's not a bug, and everything is working as intended/designed, just a matter of having the exact right (or wrong?) combination of events to make it go off the rails.

                        Just got same results with Shales. Hit more than 2'147'483'648 with Caridin, when all 4 small sized Shales died: 2 ruby, emerald, diamond with 5 Legendary Crystals. A lot of power gain

                          I've just gone back to playing with QES in the wild, with 3 ACs, and this is happening fairly regularly now. Sometimes it's leaving only the marked character standing, taking out the rest of their team and mine - particularly annoying because I can't then chop 'em up with my ACs what with being dead.

                          I've not noticed it yet with my Shales, but they are really hard to track properly because the Bulls Edge animation is borked (something to do with cursing or stealth I think?) so the dead can stand.

                          Any updates on either of these?

                            i recently saw some Shale video where it appears that the power is so high on a last standing Shale, that there is attack animation, but no damage dealt, where there should be an obvious big hit and probable victory by Bull's Edge. Instead the animation looks to cut short and then the last shale gets killed. It's been happening in Proving Grounds quite a bit so I hope this is an issue that will once again be looked at, as it is appearing more and more often now, and with larger consequence.

                              As more people get the Queen, and Shale teams with Bull's Edge become more common, it appears that this is becoming more than a few isolated incidents. I hope if the problem continues with increasing frequency, that the team could please take another look.

                              I'll ask guild mates about sharing the vids i have seen privately.

                              Even though these are forums to allow free expression of ideas, there are other (real) people involved and one should respect their opinions and questions as ORIGINALLY POSTED IN THE TOPIC HEADINGS. Moderators are here to uphold and enforce these rules and the Terms of Service. Freedom to express your ideas, concerns, suggestions, and feedback, does not allow you the freedom of saying anything you want when you agree to the Terms of Service.

                              Unless otherwise stated, courses of action will be as follows:

                              Right to Privacy
                              You will not violate a person's privacy by publishing, against another member's will, any information that is private and personal. Nor will you post private communication between EA Capital Games Support, other forum members, moderators, community managers, administrators, EA Capital Games employees, or partners of EA Capital Games on these forums or anywhere else.

                              Unless expressly endorsed by EA Capital Games, publicizing any correspondence of a private nature such as support tickets, email, Private Messages (PM) or chat logs thereof by any medium is NOT permitted.

                              Discussing or posting of another player's spending habits will be deleted.


                              Spamming
                              Obvious spam (repetitive nonsense posts) will result in the poster permanently banned and all posts deleted.


                              Porn
                              Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene is not permitted on these forums.

                              Topics/posts containing such will be deleted on sight. Forum poster will be permanently banned from the forums.


                              Warez
                              Providing or asking for information regarding the illegal downloading of "warez", "gamez" or any other software protected by copyright.


                              Future Events/Promotions
                              Any posts or threads revealing future events or promotions that were not disclosed by the Capital Games team will be deleted.


                              Cross-posting
                              Posting the same question in more than one forum is not allowed. Should this occur, then only the thread in the most relevant forum will be left open; all others will be locked/closed and subsequently deleted.


                              Cheating
                              The use of any exploits or known bugs or editing of files in order to gain an unfair advantage while playing, will result in a permanent game and forum ban.

                              Accusing another player of cheating will result in your post/thread being deleted and a message sent to you, stating to refrain from further accusations. If continued accusations occur, a forum ban will result. If you believe a player to be cheating, send a PM to the Community Manager with as much detail as possible.

                              Please privately contact the Community Manager in order to submit an inquiry regarding this behavior.


                              Off-Topic Posting
                              Taking over a thread by posting excessively off-topic is not allowed. Off-Topic posts and any responses will be moved to their own, new thread if possible, or else deleted.


                              Political Posting
                              Because political beliefs, like religion, are a personal and sensitive topic, avoid posting about politics on the forums.


                              Customer Support Inquiries
                              All inquiries regarding Customer Support should be routed through the online web portal for support. The Community Manager and Moderators are unable to assist with inquiries regarding support tickets. Posting your ticket number and requesting assistance on the forums will result in the post being deleted. Sending a Private Message to the Community Manager or Moderators about CSR Inquiries is not to be tolerated, and will be ignored.

                              Additionally, all interactions with Customer Support are considered confidential, and all issues are handled on a case-by-case basis. As such, posts containing transcripts or results of your interactions with Customer Support will be edited or deleted. Keep in mind that your friend's case may not be exactly like your case, so the results of your request may differ from the results of your friend. Customer Support will not discuss the details of any player's case with any other player, but will provide support to you under our established, confidential policies. Asking why your request was resolved differently than another player will result in your post being deleted.

                              Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games.


                              What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
                              It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

                              What happens if I break the rules?
                              At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Lead Moderator a message asking for a reason.

                              Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

                              For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.
