  • Your Canon Warden, Champion, and Inquisitor

WARNING: Massive spoilers at every turn.

It has been asked several times across several sites and forums, with Heroes of Dragon Age revolving its entirety with DA Lore, we certainly would have our own canon Warden, Champion, and Inquisitor.

Before we begin, let's settle that there is no official canon. Canon will explicitly vary depending on your story; one's canon may not be the truth with yours. In a sense, there's no canon.

Perchance, you may still be new with the lore and complexities of the Dragon Age world? Allow me to direct you to this wonderful portal: http://forums.capitalgames.com/showt...present-future

Well then, allow me to start.

Warden - I envisioned my Warden as the Human Noble, with a tragic past and a great destiny ahead of him, he made charge and gave his all for his duty. My Cousland warrior is a seasoned Dual-Wield knight, brandishing two longswords with changing fury and finesse. He is a Berserker, killing off Darkspawn like a blood storm, but is a Champion rallying his allies to his cause. He has his way with people, and his bravery and selflessness has earned the respect and allegiance of the various inhabitants Ferelden.

He's a skirt-chaser tho, until he settled with Morrigan.

Champion - I'm still on my playthrough with a Mage Hawke, but I'm near into a decision of making my Champion a Rogue. Being in Kirkwall, the Rogue would fit perfectly with his environment, and a humorous and sarcastic Rogue Hawke would pretty much be at home with the denizens of the Free Marches.

Inquisitor - I have yet to finish DA2 to move on to DAI, but until then, I can only imagine my Inquisitor as a Knight-Enchanter.

I came into this thread thinking you meant "Your Warden, Hawke and Inquisitor as a HoDA character". That would've been cool.

    Canon Warden: Human Noble Male
    Canon Hawke: Diplomatic Mage Male
    Canon Inquisitor: Undecided

    Call it boring.

That could be very interesting, we could set these fabled heroes as all Legendary units (as standard).

        Warden= Human male noble warrior
        Personality: Diplomatic,Intimidating,Persuasive

        Hawke: Male warrior
        Personalityiplomatic , intimidating
Important choies: Bethany became circle mage, gave isabella to arishok, supported mages, i don`t remember any other important decisions in game tbh

        Inquisition:Qunari warrior
        Personalityiplomatic and intimidating
choices: Choose to ally woth mages, everyone in party except blackwall respects me , made all prisoners except Erimond an agent of inquisition, choose to save dreadnaught instead of chargers, morrigan drinks the well, made wardens join inquisition, made Gaspard emperor, made Samson agent, stroud dies instead of hawke..

It's generally viewed that Harrowmont was a bad king, personally it's really difficult to choose and side on a Dwarven King, each has its perks, but you'd naturally have a morality check on your choice.

Oh boy, my sarcastic Hawke is just hilarious. I've initially backed off with DA2, but with Hawke messing around with everyone he encounters, it's just priceless.

            Warden: Luthien;Female Elven Mage

In her last fight, you barely could tell she's a woman, her Arcane Warrior abilities let her use a full set of the Legion of the Dead, and lots of auras that distorts the air around her.

A Dalish elf. Goes to the Circle because...well, no options, but hated it. Great friend with Morrigan, tried in vain to flirt with her more than once, but ended up with the lovely Leliana.
Don't like trouble, but would fight for the freedom of mages. Find lot of people stupid, but defends the right to be stupid. Don't think Blood Magic is a bad thing, but is not a great fan of demons.
Alistair in the throne, but wasnt her choice. Fought Branka, made Harrowmont King (blood means nothing).

Champion: Kalthazar; Male, no choice so Human, Mage

My champion is full of hatred and love to use his "Jedi Force" to humiliate his enemies.
Everything in his life goes wrong so he's right to hate everything. Admires Fenris and Anders...until one tries to kill him and the other blew up the chantry(that was really, really stupid). Hates Meredith. Hates living in a fucking small city.

At least he really loves Isabella (that's because he has never seen her stats in HODA) and have a true friendship with Varric.

            Inquisitor: Rajatael Seth Qunari Mage

People hates him because he's a Qunari, people hates him because he's an apostate, people hates him because he doesn't believe in the Maker...he doesn't care at all.

He wants to live, to prove he didn't opened the breach...and live a good life. Made good friends, specially Sera and Dorian...but dislikes Cassandra and really hates Viviene. Got an stable relationship with Josephine. With Solas he learnt to like the fade and its misteries, and became a Rift Mage.

Helped everyone except Viviene in their quests. Saved the Chargers, made Cole more human and tried to save Solas's friend.

Got mages as Allies. Viviene became the divine (nice, he doesn't like the chantry and Vivienne). He drank from the well. BEcame a Dragon killer....and then easily killed the boring Corypheshit.

I think even your Hawke might do with the knife if ever visits HoDA. LOL. And yes, no one could really hate Varric. It's good reading what the others decided to do.

So, here's an update of mine.

Champion - Contrary to what I said at first, Mage Hawke can make the character much more relatable to the plot. Unlike Bethany who was very wary of her surroundings, Hawke had a carefree spirit who takes pride in his Mage heritage (and the fighting and destruction that came with it), but somehow he keeps his inner emotions in facade. He likes good atmosphere, but revels in the action of combat. Battle experience is his best attribute. His sarcasm and wit made life and ascension in Kirkwall a breeze. With Carver being the bitter brother that he is, they are always on the contradicting side of the other, but are still brothers (in the end, they became allies when fate required it).

While he's an opportunist, he only make deals with just enough 'illegality', but will not take his chances to take down a foe who has an obvious scheme (I killed everyone who tried to do something stupid). He's not an entire fan of the Chantry or the Circle (no one had the guts to fight him), but he values the idea of equality (always stood against the corrupt, but if the one I protected/sided flipped over, it's knife time). He fought against the templars to end Meredith's crazy outrage. Left Kirkwall with Merill to find a new life (sadly, he'll never have it once I get Inquisition).

Ooo such a fun thread! I love talking about my player characters. Would have joined in sooner had I known this thread existed. My picks are relatively boring compared to all y'all's though:

                Warden = Human/female/noble rogue

I love my warden so much. She's a total troll - leaning toward chaotic good more than anything. She's a dual dagger wielder who's really great at stealing, picking locks, and persuading people to give her things. She chose the mages at the circle tower, sided with the elves and freed the werewolves from their curse (thus killing Zathrian), chose Caridin, and sided with Harrowmont (because a progressive tyrant is a tyrant nonetheless). When speaking to Harrrowmont, she asked for her face to be carved into one of those big rocks. At the Landsmeet, she attempted to elect Dog as her champion. Upon defeating Loghain, her words were "Ha, you lose!". She romanced Alistair and ruled beside him as queen. My first play through was as a mage, but I replayed specifically so I could marry Alistair.

                Champion:

Female rogue. Smartass personality ("What earth shattering matter requires my attention this time?"). Bethany became a circle mage. Sided with mages/Orsino, trolled Meredith as often as possible. Slept with everyone but ultimately romanced Anders. Then killed him. Then the epilogue said she ended up with Isabella for some reason.

I find it strange that in DA2 Hawke is more critical of blood magic than the Warden was in DAO.

                Inquisitor:

Ugh honestly I'm not that attached to her. She's a human rogue. She's kind of bland. Pretty, though, imho. Allied with the rebel mages. Ionno, I might start over because she's kind of boring and not that funny. Might try the American accent instead.

I just love the role play factor in Dragon Age. It may not have great changes into the main ending, but it gives a lot of details to your history♥ (Same for Mass Effect).

Also, i really like the role play in general, but Dragon Age is special. I can't understand why there's people that just go for the "best"/more profitable choices and don't really care about the role play.

Totally! I also wonder what it is about Mass Effect's roleplaying that makes is so compelling despite the limited dialogue options. The great voice acting maybe? The role playing is what creates replay value imo. Even something like switching genders makes for a different experience.

What makes ME roleplay awesome is that your choices have way more influence in your game than in DA. One little choice, one guy you saved instead of another, what optional quests you do, all have influence in the 3 games. Also, your companions can die. REALLY. In the last mission of ME2 (called Suicide Mission) you can lose almost your whole team (maybe it whole, i don't remember, only two died for me), and who died can change everything in ME3. I couldnt solve one problem in ME3 exactly because i lost someone important. And you have 3 main endings but with lots of variations.

                      That's really amazing.

That's one thing i don't like much about Inquisition, you have few real risks to your companions.

Finally! After years I got myself to play Dragon Age: Inquisition. I can't wait to nitpick some of the references from my previous playthrough -- I'm pretty much excited to meet both my Hawke and Loghain in that specific mission!

So, here's another update of mine:

Warden - Human Male Noble / Warrior / Berserker / Champion / Spirit Warrior
I envisioned my Warden as the Human Noble, with a tragic past and a great destiny ahead of him, he made charge and gave his all for his duty. My Cousland warrior was a seasoned dual-wield knight, brandishing two longswords with fury and finesse. Unparalleled when it comes to his deadly swordplay, his presence was more than enough to intimidate even the seasoned of warriors. He is a Berserker, killing off Darkspawn like a blood storm, but is a Champion rallying his allies to his cause. He has his way with people, and his bravery and selflessness has earned the respect and allegiance of the various inhabitants Ferelden. After their heroic deeds in stopping the Fifth Blight, and in time, he became the Warden Commander, along with Alistair who was named King. His prowess allowed him to become a Spirit Warrior, a feat none could ever imagine to achieve, and thru his newfound power he ended the struggle of the Architect and the Mother. Believing that the threat was finally over, he ventured forth and wandered the lands to finally meet Morrigan.

Champion - Male Mage / Force Mage / Spirit Healer
Unlike Bethany who was very wary of her surroundings, Hawke had a carefree spirit who takes pride in his Mage heritage (and the fighting and destruction that came with it), but somehow he keeps his inner emotions in facade, taking things easy and humourously. He likes good atmosphere, but revels in the action of combat. Battle experience is his best attribute, as a specialist of the ways of the Force Mage, those who withstood the way of the Champion were outright defeated. His sarcasm and wit made life and ascension in Kirkwall a breeze. With Carver being the bitter brother that he is, they were always on the contradicting side of the other, but were still brothers (in the end, they became allies when fate required it). He sided with his fellow Mages and sparked the events that would shake the world as they know it.

                          Inquisitor - Female Mage / Knight-Enchanter
A female mage who would be swept with the tragedy and intrigue of the events encompassing DA:I. She's a survivor, knowing how she barely escaped the conclave thru by luck or by fate as the people would believe it. She will take every opportunity to ensure her own survival, believing at first that the closure of the Breach would mean the safety of the world (and of course herself). However, as her story will progress, she will soon learn the importance of her duty, a destiny that only she alone could face.

                            Alright, I'll bite:

Warden/Hero of Ferelden: Personally I hated my warden, so I had no investment in his story and don't honestly remember much of the personal side of DA:O. No voice acting means silent emotionlessness all the time, it was awful. He was a human noble with a horrendous face, a dual-wielding warrior with disgusting mismatching armor. Romanced Morrigan, was besties with Alistair so I made him king, tried to be generally diplomatic but mostly ended up killing pretty much everyone. Most companion relationships were a complete flop, Morrigan and Alistar were the only ones who liked me at the end of the game. I never traveled with Sten or my dog Franz, they just stayed at camp the whole time. I killed Wynne and Loghain, Oghren and Shale didn't like me, and I never even met Leliana or Zevran. My whole DA:O playthrough was a mess but the combat was so awful I could never bring myself to go through it again.

Hawke: I liked Hawke a lot more, mostly because he was voiced. Male warrior, sarcastic and carefree. Sided with mages and put Bethany in the Circle, romanced Isabela but that ended when I accidentally found myself in bed with Merrill (genuine accident, took me too long to realize my romance with Isabela was ended so I wasn't able to repair it). I wasn't especially invested in the story of DA2 because let's be honest, it was mostly absent. However, I focused on personal relationships a lot more, maxing out my affinity with Isabela, Anders, Varric, and Merrill, though I hardly interacted with Aveline or Bethany. Didn't really get along with Fenris. I killed the Arishok, and generally tried to make Kirkwall a better place whenever the game wasn't completely thwarting my efforts by sending throngs of its poorly armed impoverished citizens for me to cut down in the streets at night. Kind of another mess to be honest.

Inquisitor: As I had previously, I once again went with a human male but this time decided to go for a mage, Knight-Enchanter specifically. This was a character I could really become invested in. I tried to make him as much like myself as I could, trying to please everybody and maintain a light heart even in the darkest of times. I definitely enjoyed Sitting In Judgement a little too much, researching the possible outcomes of each choice as much as I could in the hopes of making my organization as strong as possible. I took a lot of pleasure in the few executions I did, though. Sided with the mages against Corypheus, kept Celene as Empress, and generally made choices attempting to make life as good as I could for the people under my protection. I romanced Cassandra (the potential female romances in DA:I weren't great, honestly) but did my best to maintain good relationships with all companions. Fulfilling the "best bro" slot as Alistair and Varric had in the past, I kept Dorian by my side at all times. In the end, romancing him would have probably made more sense for my character... but I suppose a love that could never be makes his story all the more tragic. The role-playing varied a lot, though not so much because I wanted my character to eveolve but because I just couldn't pick how I wanted him to be. His story has yet to conclude, however, since I still haven't played Tresspasser...

Ha, looks like a fun thread! Please excuse my use of the default names :P

Warden/Hero of Ferelden: Elissa Cousland, two-handed champion reaver and Ferelden's queen. She's a diplomat but could never quite get along with Shale and Sten. Saved the Circle, cured the werewolves, crowned Bhelen king, did not taint any ashes, let Alistair take his hate out on Loghain and also crowned him king, convinced him to sleep with Morrigan and therefore survived slaying the Archdemon, became a spirit warrior, accidentally let Amaranthine burn, and let the Architect live. Really, did not mean to let Amaranthine burn. Oops.

Champion of Kirkwall: sarcastic Garrett Hawke, warrior and mage sympathizer. Made the mistake of taking Bethany with him to the Deep Roads but good thing Anders was there. Managed to nearly max out everyone's friendship before the end of Act 1, which was a personal best out of.... 4-5 playthroughs. Romanced Fenris, killed the Arishok with the help of Dog and a lot of explosive extras, sided with Orsino, and let Anders live. Really disappointed the Hawke that showed up in Inquisition was such a red!Hawke. Purple!Hawke is just amazing.

Inquistor: Maxwell Trevelyan, two-handed reaver and a really nice guy who unleashes holy hell in the field. He sided with the mages, kept the Wardens in Orlais (because Corypheus is darkspawn hello why would he throw them out) though Stroud stayed behind in the Fade, kept Celene as empress and reunited her with Briala, and had Morrigan drink from the Well. He tries really hard to make his allies and companions happy, and is enamored with Leliana's stories about the Hero of Ferelden. He suggested Cole could be more human and romances Dorian. Haven't played Trespasser yet so don't know how many of my choices end up biting me in the @$$ lol

Advertising or soliciting other members to buy, sell, or peruse any products or services including other applications or accounts, along with chain letters and junk mail.

Topics/posts that contain this will be both edited and closed or deleted, and an immediate 3-day ban will be issued without warning.

                              Hatred
Racism, bigotry, misogyny, hate speech, discrimination against any race, sexual preference, gender, or religion will not be tolerated.

All topics/posts will be deleted. Death threats, even joking, will be deleted and an immediate 3-day ban will be issued without warning, with further review from the Sr Moderator.

                              Flaming
Flaming includes material that is knowingly defamatory, illegal, abusive, threatening or harassing.

As with anything, you, as a member, should use good common sense when posting. In other words, you agree not to be a jerk. Posts containing personal attacks on another user will be edited/deleted at the moderators’ will.

Flaming or bashing of EA/CG, the devs, or the mods is not allowed. All posts/threads will be deleted.

                              Right to Privacy
You will not violate a person's privacy by publishing against another members will, information that is private and personal. Nor will you post private communication between EA Capital Games Support, other forum members, moderators, community managers, administrators, EA Capital Games employees, or partners of EA Capital Games on these forums or anywhere else.

Unless expressly endorsed by EA Capital Games, publicizing any correspondence of a private nature such as support tickets, email, Private Messages (PM) or chat logs thereof by any medium is NOT permitted.

Discussing or posting of another players spending habits will be deleted.

                              Spamming
Obvious spam (repetitive nonsense posts) will result in the poster permanently banned and all posts deleted.

                              Porn
Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene is not permitted on these forums.

Topics/posts containing such will be deleted on sight. Forum poster will be permanently banned from the forums.

                              Warez
Providing or asking for information regarding the illegal downloading of "warez", "gamez" or any other software protected by copyright.

                              Future Events/Promotions
Any posts or threads revealing future events or promotions that were not disclosed by the Capital Games team will be deleted.

                              Cross-posting
Posting the same question in more than one forum is not allowed. Should this occur, then only the thread in the most relevant forum will be left open; all others will be locked/closed and subsequently deleted.

                              Cheating
The use of any exploits or known bugs or editing of files in order to gain an unfair advantage while playing, will result in a permanent game and forum ban.

Accusing another player of cheating will result in your post/thread being deleted and a message sent to you, stating to refrain from further accusations. If continued accusations occur, a forum ban will result. If you believe a player to be cheating, send a PM to the Community Manager with as much detail as possible.

Please privately contact the Community Manager in order to submit an inquiry regarding this behavior.

                              Off-Topic Posting
Taking over a thread by posting excessively off-topic is not allowed. Off-Topic posts and any responses will be moved to their own, new thread if possible, or else deleted.

                              Political Posting
Because political beliefs, like religion, are a personal and sensitive topic, avoid posting about politics on the forums.

                              Customer Support Inquiries
All inquiries regarding Customer Support should be routed through the online web portal for support. The Community Manager and Moderators are unable to assist with inquiries regarding support tickets. Posting your ticket number and requesting assistance on the forums will result in the post being deleted. Sending a Private Message to the Community Manager or Moderators about CSR Inquiries is not to be tolerated, and will be ignored.

Additionally, all interactions with Customer Support are considered confidential, and all issues are handled on a case-by-case basis. As such, posts containing transcripts or results of your interactions with Customer Support will be edited or deleted.

Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games and a report to Facebook.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Sr Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                              Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                              1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion.
Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                              2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section.

                              3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available.

                              4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                              5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum.

                              6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                              7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.
