Since our illustrious leader decided to spill her guts, I've decided to do the same.
My HoDA career started sometime in October 2013, a few days into the limited release of HoDA, when it was officially only available in a handful of countries. One of those official countries wasn't my own, but my curiosity was too great and I ended up going the apk route. At the time, my main platform was a crappy low-budget Android tablet (I tried Bluestacks, but could never get it to run better than painfully slow, and I didn't have a mobile of sufficient power), but replaced that with a much better tablet early in the new year of 2014, pretty much primarily for playing HoDA one. Surprisingly, that tablet is still going strong and still remains my main platform, though do play occasionally on my phone (basically whenever out the house/office) and sometimes Facebook.
Before HoDA, I was no stranger to Dragon Age free-to-play games. In 2011, I started playing Dragon Age Legends (DAL), and actually ended up part of a limited group that was known as the 'Grey Wardens' that would test out new contents before being released to the wider public. Alas, the game ended in early 2012, than a year in, but it was a blast while it lasted and I made alot of new friends. Some of the people involved in that game went on to develop HoDA and that's part of why I continued on to it. In the later stages, the game was supported by Klicknation (what CG used to be called) and I became part of a player representative/mod group that dealt with DAL and their other games (such as Age of Champions). That group eventually became the moderator group for HoDA, and I was offered an official mod role by the Community Manager at the time, Dragnmistris, in early 2014.
I was a moderator for about a year when I decided to retire from the forums, but was never formally demoted. About 6 months into the break, an outbreak of spam happened and I volunteered to help with it's containment. I was sucked back in.
When Lyeshal became CM, I was offered the position of Senior Moderator and I accepted.
Outside of HoDA? I'm from the UK, in my mid-thirties, married (no kids yet, but they are on the agenda), and have two cats. I studied Computer Science at University, though didn't complete it; the course wasn't quite what I was expecting and I quit after two years. I had a few jobs after that, mostly clerical, and eventually found myself back in the world of computers professionally where I remain to this day.
Been a gamer pretty much my entire life, starting with a ZX Spectrum back in the mid-80s. I'm very much a PC Gamer now and have been through most my gaming life, but I have played on a few different consoles. My favourite genre is definitely RPGs, primarily of the fantasy kind, but I'll play pretty much anything with the exception of sports games and MMOs. Big fan of Bioware games, starting from Baldur's Gate, and have thoroughly most games they have created, including KOTOR, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. Looking forward to seeing more about the newly announced Anthem.
Mobile/tablet gaming is also a big deal for me at the moment. Naturally HoDA, but I also regularly play The Simpsons Tapped Out and Pokemon Go. The latter game, my wife would call an obsession.
