  • Upcoming changes to the game

We have two changes coming to the game soon that I want to share with you.

1 - Ally Codes will appear within guild applications. Regardless of whether a player enters anything within their application, the Leaders and Officers reviewing applications will at least be able to see the Ally Code.

2 - Proving Grounds has a few changes coming, starting with the week beginning October 13:
    • The week will end at 3pm ET on Saturdays (currently 12am ET Sundays)
    • Rewards will be reduced (by about a third in all rank tiers)
    • The top tier bracket will be Top 50 instead of Top 25
    • Any player who participates within the week will get at least 10 gems, regardless of where they end up ranking
    • The associated "Blood Thirsty" achievement will be reduced to require 2000 Trophies, instead of 2500
The reward reduction is required based on the current economy of the game, to keep things healthy. However, we expect that more players will be able to compete within Proving Grounds based on the new end time. We also expect more players will be trying for, and achieving, the 40 gem bonus for reaching the Blood Thirsty IV achievement. We'll be monitoring activity to see if we can adjust rewards upwards again in the future, although we do already plan to have the occasional week with increased rewards as special events.

The end time change comes about as a result of attempting to make the event more competitive at a reasonable hour for a wider percentage of the population. As with the change we did to the weekly reset/PVP event end times, this change will accommodate a much larger percentage of the player base to allow for better competition.

Both of these items will be going out with our October 9 content release. We know it's always a touchy thing when we have to mess with your gem rewards, but hopefully this kind of advance notice can assist in easing any fears.

Understandable. 100 gems a week with hardly any effort has been very generous. Nice to see the "Blood Thirsty" achievement within reach.

I love the changes! After the 8 hours runes fixed the problem on getting rid of unneeded ones, the ending time of PG has been the main concern of many people...

Next main concern: need more than 8 slots

      Thanks for those improvements!

I really appreciate "Blood Thirsty" achievement trophies reducement, the top tier bracket change from 25 to 50 and a PG ending time much better for all players.
I am not sure if the gems reduction will be worth it, you need to fort and tier not only PG defense slot team, you also need several teams to counter the defense team, you should level, fort and gear all of them well, so you need to do lots of refills in raids to get good gear and forts for these teams.
If you try to end in a good place you should get good teams and gear, so you don't get 100 gems so easy without any effort, it takes time and lots of resources from my view.

The underlying reasons for the change is that currently the system now does not need a lot of time and effort. Especially at least for the lower half of current PG prize brackets. I didn’t play PG this weekend, but did participate the previous two weeks after about a month of not participating. In those two weeks I spent a total of 4 natural runs and 3 refills and earned 220 gems back. I did not have to grind for new teams or gears. I simply just used my old advisor squad in my defense slot with double Health runes in the last two hours and attacked with other old squads I had. 2 of those refills were last week where I somehow forgot to combine runes and accidentally only put up hour long runes and realized that I went a half hour without runes and got hit quite a bit during that time.

While the gem train was very nice while it lasted I understand why they are making this change. Under the current system it was far too easy for players with an established roster of heroes to make a good profit simply by being active in the last two hours.

*I am only talking about the 500-1000 brackets of PG. not sure how the upper brackets differ as I generally am not that high.

This is very nice I think! First and foremoust, thanks you for changing the ending time! Also it is very nice for my son and other small time players that they now will get a reward for participating! This game is getting better all the time.

I have one litle remark. Could it be posible to grant extra gems for first place? Argument is that you will spend alot more gems to win than to stay top 50. Or maybe a tome for top 3?

I was waiting for this for a long time. Now I may try the Proving Grounds more often.

The system won't handle something like that very well, unfortunately. We can only accommodate showing 6 rank tiers on the PVP hub for rewards, so adding in a separate one for 1st place alone would end up knocking off the lowest tier. As it is, you won't actually see anywhere in game that players below rank 1000 will be getting the 10 gems - we're counting on word-of-mouth and the in-game patch notes to spread that news, or simply by having players try and then see that they get something anyway.

As said, we'll be monitoring the activity. We can adjust rewards again fairly easily in the future if necessary, or do special event weeks from time to time.

Keep in mind that your friend's case may not be exactly like your case, so the results of your request may differ from the results of your friend. Customer Support will not discuss the details of any player's case with any other player, but will provide support to you under our established, confidential policies. Asking why your request was resolved differently than another player will result in your post being deleted.

Violation of these terms is grounds for removal from EA Capital Games games.

What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of this forum: the moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such depend upon you to inform them when participants or their messages are violating our policy as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken.

To contact a moderator, please use the Flag Post function on the post represented by a flag:

What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be edited by one of the moderators and you will be issued a warning. If the offense is more serious your post will be deleted. Posting "why was my post edited/deleted?" etc. will only make matters worse, so please don't. If a moderator has not sent you a message stating why, please send the Lead Moderator a message asking for a reason.

Should you have already been issued warnings and continue to break the rules, you will be issued an infraction - your posting privileges will be disabled for three days, but you will still be able to view the forums as a guest.

For persistent and deliberate rule-breakers your account will be "Banned". That means you are no longer welcome on these forums and/or games and your account will no longer function in them. If you re-register, your new account will be banned as well.

                Posting Suggestions
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:

                1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of different ages, genders, religions, and backgrounds, and are each entitled to their own opinion. Keep in mind that in most cases, posts are not intended to offend. If you find yourself taking offense at a post, take a step back and contact the person directly, or appeal to a moderator for arbitration. Don't make the situation worse by posting in anger and lashing out at the original poster. Also, see Flaming, Right to Privacy, and Hatred.

                2. Make sure that your message topics fit the topic description of the forum in which you are posting. This is for your own benefit - for example, a question regarding a bug or problem should be posted in the Feedback section under the appropriate heading.

                3. Use the search function before posting, particularly if the question is problem oriented. Most technical questions have been answered before, and solutions are freely available. Additionally, before posting a bug, check the Known Issues thread to quickly see if the staff is already aware, and to find the discussion thread about that issue.

                4. Make sure that you have followed #3 before posting

                5. Read the sticky threads at the top of each forum - they are there for a reason, and generally contain information relevant to the forum and/or game.

                6. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.

                7. If you find it easier to express yourself en français, auf Deutsch, en español, in Nederlands, in Italiano, or any other language, post in the International Discussion forum. Hopefully someone who speaks the same language as you will be able to assist you. All posts in other sections (non-International) of the forums must be in English, so please make use of Google Translate if you need assistance with translation. Posting in English will allow the widest range of people to assist you.

In addition to the Forum Rules, you are bound to the general EA Terms of Service both on these forums and in the game. Links to the TOS are as follows:

                EA TOS Spanish

By registering and posting on these forums, you agree to be bound to the rules and disciplinary actions set forth above.
